Thanks for your reply, yes that is what I am doing, but I only have the two ethernet adaptors I mentioned in that list. The Intel drivers aren’t present. The PC-net-FAST one works with all my other Virtual machines, but not with Windows 7.

Russ: First to confirm, don’t take this wrong. — Prior to starting the VM right click and go to Settings under Network you only have 1 option? I Currently have 4, the one I chose is “Intel PRO/1000 MT Desktop (82540EM)”. Can you confirm thats where you are looking?

Hi,

I dont have the intel 1000 listed under network settings? I have PC-net-FAST III or PC-net-PCI II. My other virtual machines use PC-net-FAST III but this doesnt work under Windows Seven.. any idea’s?

checking in as one it helped! life got much better after taking your advice to grab the latest VirtualBox – the one in the ubuntu archive’s not it! the old one will work, but i couldn’t get the internet running. thanks much!

Yes Daniel you can download via FireFox and wget… for both mine ended in truncated ISO files. Maybe luck of the draw, but my IE based download was perfect, so in my opinion a little time in Windows would save time and be more reliable so that was my suggestion. Antonio, thanks for helping out! Intel 1000 seem to be the quick fix for networking.

In order to have network access, change the net card to Intel 1000 under settings, before starting the virtual machine.

It ist possible downloading the Image with Firefox etc. unter Linux. Look in the HTML and copy&paste the link in the button.
For me it works fine. I have installed the beta, but have no network access.
