Hey Ben, thanks again for providing this great piece of code.

Unfortunately you didn’t answer on if we could fork the code, so we just did and implemented it in a slightly modified way. It helped us a lot getting the application going on my G1 (still stuck with Android 1.6).

We gave you a big thanks on the info page and attributed you in the source – I guess that’s in your interest. :)

Hi Ben,
What a great article. You have given me hope that I can implement my project without having to build a multi-platform mobile app.
Best Wishes from Canada . . .

[...] i put together a simple dummy in a few moments yesterday (norwegian only). it works both in an iphone and in firefox on my laptop, but i have not been able to test it myself in android 2.0 (and haven’t implemented a gears fallback on 1.6). here’s a more elaborate script that should work with gears as well. (info about the script.) [...]

Hey Ben, I was searching for such an easy implementation of this! :)

Is it ok to fork the code if I attribute you as original author? It would be incredibly helpful for an open-source university project with a friend.

Great work! It works for Chrome 5.0.356.2 beta, which supports HTML5 Geolocation if you start it with the --enable-geolocation option.

I have a question for you. You said you saw a problem on the Droid, and posted a question in the Android Dev Group. Can you point me to your question, or to any details you have on the problem and its cause? If you could shoot me a quick email, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Jim,

Yes, infact I never use WiFi and it works great on MyTouch, Droid and Nexus. Check your GPS and privacy settings you may not be sharing your location? Just guessing but as long as your phone is sharing location this works well.
